Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions we hear most often.
Where are the cottages, and how far are they from Montreal?
At 100-150, rue des Mille-Feuilles, in Chertsey, Lanaudière: a 35-acre private estate on the shore of Lac Grenier. It's an hour and a half's drive from downtown Montreal. Map and directions.
Which cottage for the size of my group?
Up to 4 people: Piccolo, or one side of Deux Pins (2 bedrooms). Up to 6: The Island, La Galinette or Les Trèfles (3 bedrooms). 4 to 8: Pierre, or both sides of Deux Pins (4 bedrooms). By renting several cottages, the estate welcomes up to 38 people. See the cottages.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, with rules: up to two dogs per cottage, under 10 kg (22 lb), kept on a leash on the estate and declared when you book. A fee of $15 per day, per animal, applies. A heavier dog is only accepted with our permission. All house rules.
Is there a spa? Is it open in winter?
Yes. An outdoor spa on the water, shared by our seven cottages, is open year-round, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. No booking needed: with only seven cottages, you'll often have it to yourself.
Are the cottages on the water? Can we swim, kayak or use a pedal boat?
Yes, every cottage is on Lac Grenier, each with its own private dock and a pedal boat (a rowboat and canoe for The Island). Swim from the dock or the floating platform. Canoes, kayaks, paddleboards and rowboats can be rented on site; a municipal bylaw prohibits bringing your own watercraft.
What's included?
Bed linens, towels, a full kitchen, washer and dryer, WiFi, a gas BBQ (April 15 to November 15) and about 1/5 cord of firewood. Cleaning is covered by the service fee, a single amount per stay of $80, $120 or $160 depending on the number of bedrooms. The only extras are optional: renting watercraft (kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, rowboats) or snowshoes, and additional firewood. All you need to bring is food.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 4 p.m. and check-out at noon. An earlier arrival or later departure is sometimes possible if the cottage isn't rented the day before or after; we confirm this about 24 hours in advance.
Are summer rentals weekly? Is there a minimum stay?
In July and August, cottages are rented by the week only — 7 nights. The rest of the year, the minimum stay is two nights.
How do I book, and what is the cancellation policy?
Book online with the Book now button: the exact price for your dates appears before you confirm. A 40% deposit confirms the booking, the 60% balance is due 30 days before arrival, and a refundable $500 damage deposit is required. The deposit is non-refundable unless you add the cancellation guarantee when you book: you're then refunded 100% more than 30 days before arrival, and 50% within 30 days.
What is there to do nearby?
On the estate: the spa, hiking trails and, in winter, a skating rink on the lake plus cross-country ski and snowshoe trails. Nearby: Forêt Ouareau regional park, La Source Bains Nordiques and Arbraska in Rawdon, canoeing down the L'Assomption river at Saint-Côme and, in winter, downhill skiing (Val Saint-Côme, Saint-Donat, Montcalm), dog sledding and snowmobiling (rentals nearby, with access to the marked trails from the estate). Activities & attractions.
Is there a cottage adapted for people with reduced mobility?
Yes, two: La Galinette and Les Trèfles. Each has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of them fully adapted for people with reduced mobility.
