Philippe Ciaravola:
|
Philippe was born
in Annecy, a village located in the French Alps. At the age of 9,
his family moved to the Bahamas. 6 years later, his
family moved again, this time to Montreal. There, Philippe
completed his Masters degree in Computer Science from McGill
University. While studying at McGill, Philippe
met Nancy. After a brief stint in the private sector,
Philippe returned to McGill as Systems Manager for the School of
Computer Science where he continues to work. |

Nancy Hotte:
|
Nancy was born in
Pointe-aux-Trembles but lived most of her life in
Montreal. She attended Nursing School at McGill
University with the dream of becoming a Medical Doctor. After
graduating from Nursing School, her dream was realized: she was
accepted to McGill's Medical School. Unfortunately, the
practice of medicine under the Quebec medical system conflicted with
her
personal views of how medicine should be practiced. After three years
of studies, she decided to abandon her medical carreer. She
now practices nursing in a CLSC. |
Alexis Ciaravola:
|
Alexis was born in
Montreal
in 2001. He is a joyful and gentle boy. He loves
playing with
his "pirates", dancing, and listening to his parents tell him stories
of adventures. New friends are always welcome. |
Charlotte Ciaravola:
|
Charlotte was born
in
Montreal in 2005. She is a very determined girl and
enjoys teasing
her brother and parents. Charlotte loves to play with Alexis,
who
cares a great deal for her or who is very protective of her. |
The Project:
|
For several years,
Nancy
and Philippe lived together in Montreal where they worked and
raised
their children. All seemed well, yet there was something missing
from their life: nature. After saving enough money, they
bought a
waterfront lot on the shores of Lake Grenier in Lanaudiere with the
dream of eventually building a cottage. With the arrival
of Charlotte in 2005 came the opportunity of taking a parental
leave from their work. They decided to take the year off and
to
build (with a lot of help!) a cottage. During that same year, a large
waterfront lot went up for sale on the shores of Lake
Grenier...
the project was starting to take shape. They gathered all their
savings and borrowed the rest from the bank to build
cottages in this beautiful setting. |
